Cultivos Marinos Chiloé began operations in 1988 as part of the companies of the Lopez Huneeus family, economic group with strong involvement in the hospitality, agriculture and real estate industries in Chile.

Since 1990, year of the first harvest of salmon, Cultivos Marinos Chiloé’s work has been focused on the efficiency and safety of their production processes.

Cultivos Marinos Chiloé began its operation in the Eleventh Region of Chile, thanks to the acquisition of Mardim.

The year 2000 ended with a total harvest of 12,000 tons, and 2001 with a harvest of 24,000. This production implies an average growth of 65% annually since its inception.

In 2002, the company ranked the tenth place worldwide in the production of salmon and trout. A big milestone. Five years later, and after finishing the construction of the new fish farming, CMChiloé achieved a production over 4,000 annual tons.

In 2009, after the crisis that affected the Chilean industry, the company built a new Atlantic Salmon center. This process ended with a successful harvest, in September 2010.

Along these decades, CMChiloé has developed a strong financial management. We connected the human capital with the company, its objectives, and solid strategic relations with other members of this industry around the world.
